Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

Soklia ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal wellness tracking application with an AI coach. This policy explains what data the app processes, where it goes, and the choices you have. Soklia is built privacy-first and offline-first: your wellness data lives on your device, and information only leaves it for specific features described below.

1. Who is responsible

Soklia is published by an individual developer based in France, acting as the data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact: contact@soklia.com.

2. No account required

Soklia does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or password to use the app. Your data is tied to your device, not to an online identity we hold.

3. Data stored on your device

The core of your experience stays local, in an encrypted-at-rest database on your phone (via the operating system). This includes your wellness entries (sleep, hydration, activity, mood, custom routines), your goals and settings, your streaks, and your chat history with the coach. We never receive a copy of this local database unless you explicitly enable cloud backup (see §5).

4. Data sent to third parties (per feature)

Some features require sending limited data to specialised service providers:

FeatureWhat is sentProvider
AI Coach (text) Your messages and the relevant wellness context needed to answer Anthropic (Claude), via our secure relay (Cloudflare)
Voice Coach Your voice audio during a session, and the assistant's responses Google (Gemini), via our secure relay (Cloudflare)
Usage analytics Anonymous app-usage events — only if you give explicit consent PostHog (servers in the EU)
Crash reporting Technical error data (no wellness content) Sentry
Push notifications A device push token Expo

Our relay does not store the content of your coach conversations; it forwards them to the AI provider and returns the answer. AI providers process the data to generate a response in line with their own policies.

5. Optional cloud backup

You may choose to back up your data to your own Google Drive account. This is entirely optional and off by default. When enabled, the backup file is stored in your private Drive space — we have no access to it.

6. Health data (Health Connect / Apple Health)

With your explicit permission, Soklia can read health metrics (such as sleep and activity) from Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) to pre-fill your daily entry. This data is used on-device and is treated as sensitive. You can revoke this permission at any time in your system settings.

7. Analytics & your consent

Analytics are disabled by default. Nothing is tracked unless you give explicit consent. Events are anonymous, contain no health details, and are used only to understand how features are used so we can improve the app. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app settings, which stops all tracking.

8. Legal basis (GDPR)

9. Data sharing & selling

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. Data is shared only with the service providers listed in §4, strictly to operate the features you use.

10. International transfers

Some providers (Anthropic, Google, Sentry, Expo) may process data outside the EU, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Analytics (PostHog) are hosted in the EU.

11. Data retention & deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can erase all local data at any time from the app settings ("delete my data"), or by uninstalling the app. If you enabled Drive backup, delete the backup file from your Google Drive.

12. Children

Soklia is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly process data from children under 16.

13. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Since your data is stored locally and we hold no account, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the app. For anything else, contact contact@soklia.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
